Abstract

Summary. The article presents the genesis of the formation of the concept of "social competence". The socio-historical prerequisites for the emergence and development of the essence and structure of this definition are revealed. Determine the positions of foreign and Ukrainian scientists who have studied various aspects of social competence both at the personal and collective levels; propose prospects for further development of the content of social competence in the context of the global trend towards integration and globalization of society. The analysis of the features of the formation of scientific positions of the leading countries of the world to the problem of introducing the competencebased paradigm into the modern educational sphere, including political and socio-economic, multicultural, socio-communicative, individual-personal, information-instrumental components, that is, competencies, the mastery of which is provided by the success of the life of the individual in society – key social competencies. The integrative framework of key competencies for lifelong learning, identified by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, is analyzed, which is based both on the traditional knowledge production-oriented and on the innovative competency-based approach. A promising direction for the further development of the problem of the formation of social competence, associated with its acquisition of a broader globalization content, updating the view on the content of the levels of social competence of an individual in a global society, is proposed: necessary for effective general communication; for professional interaction at the level of society; to solve global socially important tasks. The genesis of social competence in the context of the modern educational paradigm develops from perceiving it as an important condition for professionalism, as a complex characteristic of a specialist to understanding its global context through the optimization of everyone's efforts, the formation of socially significant changes in society, the consolidation of contributions to a common cause, when achieving a goal that is significant for each individual.
