OVERVIEW OF THE USА LEADING INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Summary. The article examines the possibilities of obtaining higher education in the field of international relations and related fields in the United States of America, as well as employment prospects for graduates. Taking into account the globalization of the modern world, developed international relations, as well as tensions in international relations between some countries, the need to train qualified diplomatic personnel becomes obvious. In this matter, the educational experience of a country like the United States of America, which demonstrates highly qualified and effective diplomatic work, is seen as useful and valuable. An overview of the leading institutions of higher education in the USA was carried out. The represented institutions include Foreign Service Institute, the School of International Service at American University; the Faculty of International Relations at Boston University; the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University; the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University; the Monterey Institute for International Studies at Middlebury College. The degree programs and main specialties that these institutions offer are also examined. Special attention is paid to the US Foreign Service Institute (FSI), as a leading institution. In addition to training specialists in four institutes in different areas, FSI conducts advanced training courses for diplomatic service personnel and provides lifelong learning opportunities. The problem of training highly qualified specialists who would meet all modern requirements is one of the most important in the education system of any country, therefore the article focuses on the primary skills in the field of international relations that students must master during their studies for successful employment and career growth.
