Статтю присвячено висвітленню проблеми ідентифікації обдарова-них дітей та молоді у загальноосвітніх школах США. З’ясовано сутність основоположного поняття дослідження – обдаровані діти та молодь – в американських законодавчих документах із відображенням штатової специфіки й окреслено складові обдарованості. Схарактеризовано методи та етапи ідентифікації обдарованих школярів в американських загально-освітніх навчальних закладах.
